CIA (Creative Intelligence Agency)
Talented and Gifted Program
Each year, Middle School CIA (Creative Intelligence Agency) has a universal theme and subject focus, as well as compacting the general classroom social studies curriculum. This year, our universal theme is “patterns,” and our subject focus is math/logic. Sixth and seventh grade students will also be producing National History Day projects. The National History Day theme is "Revolution, Reaction, Reform in History."

Julie Hulley, 2011 Missouri's Outstanding National History Day Teacher
Julie Hulley, M.S. , Ed.
Middle School CIA Instructor
This is my 31st year as an educator. I first experienced teaching gifted children, in student teaching kindergarten and first grade at the Northwest Missouri State University's Horace Mann Lab School. One of my kindergarten students was a 4-year-old who could read seventh-grade-level books. He was a challenge and a joy. From that time, I have been intrigued with the special abilities, needs, and contributions of talented and gifted children. Now, this is my 20th year as a teacher of talented and gifted, and I continue to be delighted and amazed by my students.
